How a Recirculating Hot Water Pump Give Hot Water Fast

You turn on the hot water tap, but the water is cold, so you wait for it to be heated. You wait and wait. This waiting time is wasting a lot of water and energy. It is just so impractical. It not only pours precious water down the drain but also a substantial amount of money is spent on utility bills. How you wish you can have instant hot water as soon as you turn on your faucet.

A recirculating hot water pump can give you hot water as fast as a tankless water heater can, but still using the tank type water heater. What is a hot water recirculating pump anyway and how does it heat water fast?

But first, let us know what a tank type water heater is. This kind of heater stores hot water in the pipes waiting to be used until it gets cold, so energy is wasted. When you turn the hot water valve the moment you need it, the water has already cooled down, so the cooled water is replaced with fresh hot water. The pipes have to be heated first and take several minutes. There is a waste of energy, water and time.

On the other hand, with the hot water recirculating pump device, the cooled off hot water flows back to the water heater via the cold water line and replaced with fresh hot water which flows out of the faucet. You don’t have to wait for a long time. No water is flows down the drain.

Let us always opt for systems which conserve water.
