Convenience is what most people
want wherever, whenever. We want hot water as soon as we turn on the faucet. We
want a cool temperature in the room as soon as we enter. We want everything in
a snap of a finger. These things have become possible, however, at a high
unnecessary cost.
Because of sky-high utility
bills, it causes problems to consumers, especially business owners. Moreover,
energy resources is used up and wasted. Because of these reasons, a number of
companies have designed energy-saving programs to help save up energy and lower
energy costs.
The Palo
Alto Utilities Hospitality program is one of them. It was formulated after
a study of three water circulating pumps which concluded with a recommendation
to replace these pumps with an on-demand hot water pump system.
Due to the high cost of the
energy-efficient pump, the Palo Alto utility rebate program is implemented to
give rebates to compensate for the building owner’s expenses on upgrading to
energy-efficient equipment in homes or businesses. The City of Palo Alto
Utilities has also sponsored a zero interest loans for business owners to be
able to fund for the energy upgrade. The monthly payment is computed to match
the projected savings from the energy efficiency upgrades so as not to increase
expenses even with a loan.
Palo Alto Utilities Hospitality and Multifamily
Program provide rebates of up to 50% can be given for specified products.
Requirements must be met to benefit from the program. For instance, Demand
circulation pumps that works only when needed cuts down energy cost by 90%.
A separate Palo Alto Energy
Efficient Rebate Programs can be availed by homeowners. They have the
option either to avail of a money-back rebate or a zero interest loan for up to
six months for doing energy efficiency improvements in their homes.
